Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

PurchasePal Technologies Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the PurchasePal iOS application and this beta landing website at purchasepalapp.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services during the public beta phase.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information when you use the PurchasePal app or interact with our beta program:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and credentials you provide when creating an account.
  • Shopping and usage data: Shopping lists, barcode scan results, price comparison queries, shopping history, and preferences you enter or generate in the app.
  • AI interaction data: Inputs and outputs related to the AI Shopping Assistant and health-check features, used to deliver personalized suggestions and analysis.
  • Feedback submissions: Bug reports, glitch descriptions, feature suggestions, optional screenshots, and associated metadata submitted through the in-app Feedback section.
  • Device and technical data: Device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and diagnostic information to improve stability during beta testing.
  • Waitlist information: If you join a waitlist before the app is publicly available, we collect the email address you submit on this website.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide core app features including price comparison, AI shopping assistance, and shopping list management.
  • Sync your account and data across devices where supported.
  • Process, review, and respond to beta feedback submissions.
  • Verify eligibility for the lifetime free subscription incentive and upgrade qualifying accounts.
  • Send transactional communications, including feedback receipt confirmations and subscription status updates.
  • Identify, diagnose, and fix bugs, glitches, and performance issues reported during beta.
  • Improve product features, user experience, and security.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

3. Beta Program and Feedback

During the public beta, you may submit feedback through the in-app Feedback section. Submissions may include descriptive text and optional screenshots. We associate feedback with your user account to prevent duplicate promotional credits and to follow up when needed.

Lifetime subscription eligibility is granted per verified user account. Duplicate submissions from the same account do not count as separate contributions. We review submissions before upgrading accounts; verification timing is described in our beta FAQ and Terms of Use.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: Hosting, analytics, email delivery, and AI infrastructure partners that process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
  • Apple: When you download via the App Store or TestFlight, Apple's terms and privacy practices apply to distribution and payment (if applicable).
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, fulfill beta program obligations, resolve disputes, and comply with legal requirements. Feedback and diagnostic logs may be retained for product improvement after account closure, in anonymized or aggregated form where feasible.

6. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; beta software may carry additional risk, and you use the app at your own discretion during the testing period.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account.
  • Export shopping list data where the app provides export functionality.
  • Opt out of non-essential marketing communications.
  • Request information about how we process your data.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe subject to applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The PurchasePal app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International Users

If you access the PurchasePal app from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the app, you consent to such transfer where permitted by law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product moves beyond beta or as laws change. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
